Usability Instructions for Bluebird Silglow Stucco - (2026)

Bluebird Silglow Stucco Antiqe is an excellent quality waterborne product meant for creating unique wall styles with an elegant antique finish. Its color selections are deliberately chosen. Bluebird Stucco Antiqe is a topcoat and is posited for interior purposes only on plaster concrete, gypsum, board, MDF, and plywood.

1. Scrape & Sand the Wall

If there are any flaking or peeling areas, scrape these away with a paint scraper or with a putty knife. That's how you create the smoothest surface and how you make the peeling paint stay put when you put new paint on top.

Fine-grit sandpaper (around 120 to 150 grit) is what you want to use when sanding the wall for floor to smooth something. That improves paint adhesion, leaving nothing unpleasantly sand-pasted to the wall. You should always wear a dust mask when sanding plaster or a previously painted wall.

Sanding

2. Repair the Wall

Look for any holes, dents, or cracks on the wall and use Bluebird Wall Putty to fill these. Smooth out the paste, leave for the allotted time, and when dry, sand the repaired areas until they are level with the wall and unobtrusive out.

3. Primer Application

If there is a change in color, or the wall has stains or prior repairs, then we need a primer. Primer allows for a smooth surface and helps the paint adhere better, leading to a uniform look.

For best results, we suggest using Bluebird Wall Primer 3-in-1.

Trowel

4.   First coat of Bluebird Silglow Krystal (with trowel)

The application of the first coat of Silglow Harir Texture paint is done using a trowel to form a cross-hatch pattern, This first layer is important because it sets the tone of the rest of the layers by establishing depth and texture in the surface so that it can better catch the light. The criss-cross pattern also helps to break the flatness of the surface. This is done to create variation in the surface which isfurther enhanced by the last coat that is planned to be used, and to create a surface that is sophisticated, rich in depth, and interesting in light interaction.

5. Application of the Second Coat of Bluebird Silglow Krystal (with Brush)

There's already texture from the first layer, and the second layer of Silglow Harir Texture paint is applied using a particular, small texture-creation brush that matches the first application in a crisscross pattern. This method adds to the texture that the first layer developed by putting in additional details that make the overall finish richer. It also allows for greater depth and precision, resulting in a more polished element that, along with the other finishes used, contributes to a richly developed visual surface.

6. Drying and Finish

Silglow Krystal Texture paint is completely dry and ready for use in 1-2 hours total, and each layer takes about 30 minutes to dry. Given the texture of each layer and the rapid rate of crisscross drying pattern, it is a quick process to get the overall finished surface. In a polished and elegant finish, the sophisticated surface adds texture with a modern design to any interior space.

7. Make Sure to Keep the Walls Well Maintained

Preserve the integrity of the textured walls for as long as possible by softly dusting them with a damp cloth. Do not use a cleaner that is abrasive as it can be detrimental to the surface. Consistent upkeep results in the vintage brilliance of the Silglow Stucco.
