1. Considerations

Before applying Bluebird Plastic Emulsion, consider the following factors for optimal results:

Temperature: Apply in temperatures between 10°C and 30°C. Extreme temperatures can negatively affect drying and finish quality.
Humidity: Ideal humidity levels are below 80%. Excess moisture can prolong drying time and affect the adhesion of the paint.
Surface Dryness: Ensure the masonry surface is dry and clean before starting the painting process.
Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation in enclosed spaces for faster drying and to minimize exposure to paint fumes.

2. Surface Preparation

Proper surface preparation ensures the paint adheres well and lasts longer:

Cleaning: Clean the surface thoroughly to remove dust, dirt, grease, or any loose material. For walls previously painted with gloss or semi-gloss finishes, sand the surface lightly to ensure good adhesion.
Repairing: Fill any cracks, holes, or imperfections with a suitable filler. Sand down rough areas to create an even surface.

5. Number of Coats

First Coat: Apply the first coat evenly and allow it to dry for 2-4 hours, depending on temperature and humidity. This coat provides a solid base for the second coat.
Second Coat: Apply a second coat after the first has dried completely. This will ensure full opacity, rich color depth, and a smooth finish.
Additional Coats: For dark or highly contrasting colors, or when changing to a lighter shade, a third coat may be necessary to achieve complete coverage and finish consistency.

6. Clean-up and Ventilation

Proper clean-up and ventilation are essential for maintaining a high-quality finish:

- Clean-up: Since Bluebird Plastic Emulsion is water-based, clean brushes, rollers, and tools with soap and water immediately after use. For any spills, wipe them up with a damp cloth while the paint is still wet.
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation during application, especially in enclosed areas. Open windows or use fans to keep air circulating, which will also help the paint dry faster.
- Drying Time: While the paint may dry to the touch within a few hours, allow at least 24 hours for full curing before exposing the surface to wear or cleaning.
